Check back often to see a growing list of legislation that GCC supports. We encourage others to review these bills and if so inclined support them as well.

Medical Freedom
HJR 91 – authored by Andy Hopper – Proposing a constitutional amendment recognizing the right of an individual to refuse a vaccination.
With recent controversy surrounding a primary candidate that supported private school mandates, GCC believes that Texas should make it clear that private and public institutions are not allowed to require a vaccination as a condition of employment, enrollment, or for any other reason. This amendment does exactly that!

HB 730 – authored by Shelby Slawson – Relating to the affidavit form for claiming an exemption from required immunizations.
A good step in the right direction. The form required with this legislation would satisfy informed consent and would encourage individual discretion. Ultimately, GCC would like to see this legislation become obsolete as Texas adopts an official position that vaccines can never be mandated by private or public institutions.

Gun Freedom
HJR 93 – authored by Andy Hopper – Proposing a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right of every person to keep and bear arms.
GCC strongly supports this legislation that takes the offensive and would result in greater freedom instead of fighting to simply defend the status quo. With this amendment, Texas would no longer be authorized to legislate the wearing of arms. No reason Texas still can’t maintain CHL licenses for easier firearm sales and carry reciprocity in other states.

HB 162 – authored by Briscoe Cain – Relating to prohibiting the recognition, service, and enforcement of extreme risk protective orders; creating a criminal offense. (alias ANTI-RED FLAG ACT)
President Trump and his recently appointed AG Pam Bondi both hold the unconstitutional view that officers should “take the guns first and then seek due process”. Unfortunately, this is major affront to second amendment protections and Texas may need some red-flag nullification legislation in the next four years if the feds make the wrong decision.

Health Freedom
HB 1385 – authored by Wes Virdell – Relating to the labeling of beef and beef products; providing a civil penalty.
The food industry is in shambles across the U.S. Consumers should know as much about the source of their foods as possible. Plus, who doesn’t want to buy beef stamped “Made in Texas”.

Protect Children
Republic Priority #3 – Stop Sexualizing Texas’ Kids
HB 1391 – authored by Andy Hopper – Relating to the prosecution and punishment of certain trafficking and sexual offenses; increasing criminal penalties; changing parole eligibility.

HB 1075 – authored by Nate Schatzline – Relating to a cause of action for drag performances performed in the presence of a minor.
Enough with the corruption of children.

Private Property
HB 1379 – authored by Wes Virdell – Relating to the authority of a game warden or other peace officer commissioned by the Parks and Wildlife Department to enter private property.
Private property is private property and there are legal means by which searches can occur. Get a warrant, then search the property.

Texas Sovereignty
HB 930 – authored by Briscoe Cain – Relating to certain requirements for activation of the Texas National Guard into active combat duty.
Limits the feds access to the Texas National Guard to only declared wars or when called forth by Congress for Art I, Sec 8, Cl 11 insurrections or invasions. Texas First.

Fiscal Responsibility
HB 847 – authored by Brian Harrison – Relating to a prohibition on funding for gender reassignment.
The state has no obligation or authority to designate funds to such nonsense. If you want to cut off your genitals, pay for it yourself.
