Debate or Rally? The Truth Behind Texoma’s “Conservative” Men’s Club

Part 1: Self-Proclaimed “Conservative Men’s Club of Texoma” (CMCT) Seeks NAACP Sponsorship for De Facto Democrat Rally

It has come to our attention that “The Conservative Men’s Club of Texoma” plans to ally with ultra-liberal NAACP while partnering with local Democrat group “Grayson United.” What is being promoted as a partisan debate is looking more and more like a planned ambush on Grayson’s conservative Republicans, many of whom were endorsed by GCC just last spring.

While most, if not all, of these Republican candidates have wisely rejected the invitation, the organizers with “The Conservative Men’s Club of Texoma” are dedicated to moving forward with what they continue to call a “debate.”

How is this a debate when only one side has agreed to participate?

Grayson is a vastly red county and hosting an event mischaracterized as a “debate” with Democrats and liberal sponsors will only serve as a platform to elevate woke agendas and socialist messaging. It makes no sense that a so-called “conservative” group would be so staunchly dedicated to organizing an event where there is little to no benefit to conservative values or candidates.

At this point, what is being planned is Democrat promotion… the speakers will be democrats, the sponsors are democrats, it’s promoted by democrats, and the likely attendees will be democrats. Make no mistake… it’s a de facto Democrat Rally, with a so-called “conservative” group seeking to leverage an NAACP sponsorship.

Things are not adding up.

Just to be 100% clear… The Conservative Men’s Club of Texoma is in no way affiliated with Grayson County Conservatives, where our mission is to unapologetically promote conservative values and the best-of-the-best conservative candidates.

Part 2: Email between Organizers Confirms CMCT Seeking NAACP Sponsorship

According to this email between a “Conservative” Men’s Club of Texoma founder (Mark Russell) and event organizer (Beverly Towers), the conservative-in-name-only organization was seeking written permission to use the NAACP’s name as a sponsor for an upcoming Democrat promotion event, which they have continually mislabeled a “debate”. The realization that they are working with the NAACP, and radical liberal Pamela McGraw, should have actual conservatives’ eyes wide open as to the intent of this event.

NAACP-sponsored events are politically charged partisan events. A quick Google search shows that Biden routinely uses these events to trash Trump, and Trump unapologetically rejects invitations to speak at NAACP events. There should be zero expectation that Rs would attend anything remotely associated with that biased liberal group.

At a time when actual conservatives are uniting behind an exceptional group of Republicans, the Men’s Club is uniting with liberals and Democrats. It’s a losing game in a blood red county like Grayson. In contrast, Grayson County Conservatives (GCC) is dedicated to standing beside our conservative candidates. Winning for conservatives in November is critical and the time is now to defeat bad liberal ideology, not elevate it.

Part 3: CMCT Leader Forwarded the Email

After fielding entertaining allegations that GCC was hacking email accounts and doctoring emails it was shown without refute that GCC did not hack any email accounts as the email was forwarded from CMCT. Further, it’s clear that the content was not doctored and was presented in full context, as shown here including forwarding tags and dates.

Part 4: Lessons Learned

CMCT hopes that the public will see their co-sponsored event as fair and unbiased. However, it is notable and concerning that many leaders from CMCT are not sincere in their support for conservatism or Republican victories in November.

  • Using the term “conservative” in your group name while partnering with democrats, liberals and partisan groups like NAACP is dishonest. CMCT should pick something that better describes their goals and intentions because “conservative” is not it.
  • Using the term “debate” when only the Democrats will be present is deceptive. CMCT should simply call it what it is… a Democrat Rally.
  • Expecting R candidates to participate in this event is out-of-touch. There is no reasonable expectation of good faith from CMCT to fairly organize a debate when NAACP is a sought-after sponsor or contributor; and when radical liberals, like Pamela McGraw, are drafting debate questions.
  • Founding members of CMCT enthusiastically promoting liberal Democrat candidates in this election does not inspire confidence in the group’s conservative credibility.
  • Voicing disrespect, badgering and taunting Republican candidates for choosing not to participate in this biased event poses questions about CMCT intent. CMCT asked, the R candidates declined, and they should politely accept this and adjust messaging about the event appropriately.

Grayson’s conservative Republican candidates won contentious primaries, their campaigns have been challenged and vetted extensively, they have proven to be excellent candidates and now they face a general election against liberal Democrats. They should not be expected to wade through traps set by so-called conservative groups like CMCT partnering with Democrats and liberals.
